Cardi B has announced that she’s pregnant and told fans that ‘with every ending comes a new beginning,’ following the news that she’s filed for divorce from husband Offset

Cardi B has announced that she’s pregnant, with her having shared the news following reports that she’s filed for divorce from her estranged husband Offset for a second time.

The rapper shared the news on Instagram on Thursday, posting photos of herself sporting an apparent baby bump whilst modelling a red dress. 

She teased at the start of the caption: “With every ending comes a new beginning!”

She then appeared to share a message for her unborn child, writing: “I am so grateful to have shared this season with you. You have brought me more love, more life, and renewed my power.”

“Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”

Cardi – whose real name is Belcalis Cephus – is already a parent to two children with her estranged husband Offset, 32 – whose real name is Kiari Cephus. The former couple are parents to Wave, two, and Kulture, six.

The news of her latest pregnancy comes following reports earlier this week that she’s filed for divorce from Offset. A rep for Cardi – who has been married to the fellow rapper in 2017 – told People magazine : “It’s not based on cheating rumours, but rather has been a long time coming.”

As previously reported, Cardi confirmed her separation from Offset towards the end of last year. She’s quoted as having said in a livestream at the time: “I’ve been single for a minute now, but I have been afraid to like – not afraid I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign.”

The Grammy Award winner reportedly shared at the time that she was looking ahead to the new year following the break-up. She’s said to have told fans in December: “I wanna start 2024, like, fresh, open. I don’t know. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited.”

It’s believed to be the second time that Cardi has filed for divorce from Offset. It was previously reported that she had done so in 2020, though just months later the divorce was said to have been called off, with the pair understood to have rekindled their relationship at the time.

Cardi has been met with well wishes and supportive messages from fans on social media over the pregnancy announcement this week. One person reacted to her post: “Congrats Cardi.” Another commented: “I’m wishing you a healthy and amazing pregnancy.” Whilst a third said: “So happy for you.”
