Adele’s Munich Concert Chaos: Fans Demand Answers as Shows Are Canceled Without Explanation, ‘Is She Really Okay After Leaving LA?’

Pop star Adele has worried fans ahead of her first date in Munich as part of her German residency as one of her performances has already been cancelled

Adele’s highly anticipated Munich concert shows have been put into question as one performance has already been cancelled.

Despite ‘training like an athlete’ for her upcoming shows in Munich, it appears doubt has already been cast on whether the show will take place.

The singer is set to perform in Germany throughout August in the purpose built 80,000 seat Munich Messe stadium.

Titled Adele In Munich, it is the star’s second concert residency and her first European show since 2016.

Her stint in Germany will end on August 31 and she has been hitting the gym three to four times a day to prepare. However, just before her first show kicks off on Friday 2 August, Adele suffered a blow as her final dress rehearsal was cancelled. The Hello hitmaker and her management made the tough decision to call off the performance amid fears of fierce thunderstorms and heavy rain.

The poor weather has cast doubt on her first performance in front of fans tomorrow. Fans are waiting in anticipation that the show will go ahead as planed. It comes after concert organisers issued a statement where they said the run-through was cancelled “due to safety measures”. They hoped it could be rescheduled later on today.

However, they are still not confident as forecasts for the German city predict “moderate, gusty winds from the west to northwest in some areas” and warns of “scattered showers or thunderstorms overnight into Saturday, more frequent near the Alps”. Despite the first show starting on Friday, around 5% of tickets for the shows over the month are still available to buy.

They are likely to be snapped up though as the 10-date residency will be her last gig of the year aside from some more Vegas shows which are already sold out. “My tank is quite empty at the minute,” the star said ahead of the residency in Munich. “I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while. You know, I don’t even sing at home at all. How strange is that?”

The pressure is on for her stadium comeback after she gained something of a reputation for cancelling tours. Her last world tour ended early at Wembley in 2017 due to illness. The problems persisted in Vegas. First, the show was cancelled at a day’s notice, in a furore blamed on her not being happy with the production and complications of Covid. Then she was forced to postpone 10 shows because of vocal issues.

Vegas has helped Adele with her stage fright and obsessive compulsive behaviour. Thanks to an intimate 4,100 crowd, she’s fallen in love with performing again. “To be scared for 15 years isn’t really a f***ing vibe,” she says. “Something that’s happened in this room [in Vegas] is it’s become so normal for me to be on stage.”

In a bid to connect to her die-hard fans, the 36 year old mum of one, asked organisers of her Munich show to build her a stage which will allow her to be closer to her devoted fan base. However, this now means she will be walking four to five miles a night on stage. Speaking on stage, she said: “I am back at my gym grind like nobody’s business, I am doing two or three sessions a day. My a**e is getting rock solid again! I can move mountains with my bum. I have been working out like a crazy person. The reason that I am working out like I’m an athlete again is because that stage is f****** enormous.”
