Zac Efron has worried fans after he was dragged out of a pool in Ibiza and taken to hospital.
He has since broken his silence after the “minor” and thanks fans for sharing their well wishes. The High School Musical hunk, 36, reportedly had an issue at the Ibiza villa he was staying at.
Two workers found him and pulled him to safety before he was then rushed to hospital. He has since posted a workout snap online and shared a health update alongside the pic.
Zac penned: “Happy and healthy – thanks for the well wishes.” Fans were thrilled with the news after they had been left concerned.
The Hollywood star’s spokesperson described the incident as “minor” and simply insisted “He is fine”. It was not explained why he had to have medical treatment.
However, this is not the first time he’s ran into trouble in regard to his health, as back in 2013 he had to be resuscitated after a suspected drug overdose.
Bystanders at a party were worried after he “collapsed” in a New York hotel suite. This came shortly after he spent time in rehab for addiction issues, according to Page Six at the time.
Zac, who was 25 at the time, was allegedly struggling with a “serious” cocaine addiction, but National Enquirer also alleged there were other substances in the mix.
According to the publication, Zac previously overdosed on the powerful painkiller oxycodone, which is coined as ‘hillbilly heroin’. The magazine reported that after boozing and using the prescription medication, Zac ended up collapsing and had to be resuscitated by other partygoers.
One eyewitness said: “I was scared for him. If he doesn’t clean himself up, he’ll be Hollywood’s next big drug tragedy.”
More recently, Zac has been doing the promo for his upcoming movie The Iron Claw, and fans have noticed something different about him.

In 2022, the Hollywood hunk explained his change in look and put it down to when he suffered a shattered jaw after he accidentally shattered his chin on a granite fountain. Prior to him setting the record straight, fans assumed the transformation was due to plastic surgery.
In 2022, he told Men’s Health Magazine, that he had slipped on a pair of socks while running at home, causing his chin to smash with a granite fountain.
He claimed this caused the masseter muscles on the inside of his face and jaw to ‘compensate’ for his injury, which caused them to grow in size. Zac said: “The masseters just grew. They just got really, really big.”
